It is never too late to begin again. This is a story of returning to what was always mine.
BRAND
AtelierBEB was founded in 2020 in Bursa and later moved to Zürich in 2021, where it continues its journey today. Created by Ebru Yavuzbalkan, the brand began as a fine silver jewelry line and has evolved into a collection of handcrafted pieces featuring natural stones and pearls; each reflecting individuality, quiet strength, and transformation.
Brand name comes from the initials of my family and myself. It represents not only a brand, but a story of connection, identity, and belonging; from Istanbul to Zürich.
Each piece is produced in limited quantities or as a one-of-a-kind design. Natural stones, pearls, sterling silver, and gold-plated silver are carefully selected to create jewelry that is unique by nature.
CAREER
Before this story, my journey took shape in a very different world. I studied economics at the Faculty of Political Sciences, alongside law, and began my career in a bank through a management trainee program. I later worked for many years in leading banks in Turkey, and eventually as a business transformation consultant at IBM.
It was a demanding, disciplined, and formative career that gave me perspective, resilience, and structure. But life gradually shifted direction.
In truth, this journey began much earlier; with a childhood dream.
A desire to create something beautiful with my hands.
I followed that instinct and trained in jewelry making with master craftsmen in Istanbul and the Grand Bazaar in Bursa. But life, relocations, and responsibilities led me to pause this path.
Still, I never let go of it.
As I approached my 50s, I chose to begin again. I made space for what had always been within me.
That is how AtelierBEB was born.
WOMEN
Women are inherently creative, strong, and resilient. They carry life, nurture it, and ensure its continuity.
Yet in many societies, the roles assigned to women limit their growth and ability to fully express themselves. Even when women actively participate in professional life, the weight they carry often becomes heavier.
Motherhood and household responsibilities largely remain on their shoulders. Life is not always shared equally.
A woman is often seen as incomplete if she is not married or does not have children. If she does not work, she is judged. If she does, something else is said to be missing. The expectations placed on women rarely end.
And over time, a woman’s own space for creation is pushed aside.
But that potential never disappears; it is only postponed.
AtelierBEB is an expression of returning to that space.
Each piece carries this philosophy.
Natural stones, pearls and silver are not perfect. They are shaped over time, transformed under pressure, and it is this process that makes them unique.Silver, too, may darken with life; but it can always be polished to shine again.
Just like us.
Our experiences do not limit us. They transform us, deepen us, and make us stronger.
We may pause. We may change direction. But we can always begin again.
